TWO LOCAL OPERATORS WIN VICTORIAN HALL OF FAME
Two regional operators, Monreale Estate and De Bortoli Winery and Restaurant, were inducted into the Victorian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame last night for winning their category for three consecutive years.
Announced at Crown Palladium, in front of 1,100 industry peers, the Victorian Tourism Awards recognise excellence, innovation and commitment across all sectors of the tourism industry.
Monreale Estate, of Sassafras in The Dandenongs, won the Victorian Hosted Accommodated Tourism Award. This award is presented to owner/operator accommodation providers offering a high degree of personal contact with guests.
De Bortoli Winery and Restaurant were also Hall of Fame winners for their category, Crown Award for Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Boutique Breweries. This Award recognises wineries that make a significant contribution to the industry. The team at De Bortoli’s also received a Merit Award in the 3AW Award for Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services.
Another major win for the region was the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), Gulf Station Volunteers, who took out the RoyalAuto Award for Outstanding Contribution by a Volunteer/s.
